Steve Papermaster has over 25 years of entrepreneurial leadership success founding, growing, funding and operating innovative global technology companies. He is the co-founder, Chairman and CEO of Appconomy. As an entrepreneur, investor and executive, Mr. Papermaster’s leadership roles have also included serving as founder, Chairman, CEO and/or board member for publicly traded and private companies. He has spanned founding stages through IPO’s as founder, CEO, and board chairman/member including Appconomy, Moxie Software, DaQiao Group, Powershift Group, Perficient, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRFT), Vignette Corporation (Nasdaq: VIGN/OTXT), Per Se Technologies/acquired by McKesson (Nasdaq: PSTI/NYSE: MCK); TippingPoint Technologies/acquired by 3Com (Nasdaq: TPTI/COMS/HP), and BSG Corp.

Brian Magierski, President and COO
Brian Magierski is co-founder, President and COO of Appconomy, as well as a member of its board of directors, where he oversees the company’s product, marketing, finance, and other operations. Brian has spent the past 15 years as an entrepreneur serving large enterprises and businesses with application software and web services offerings. Prior to Appconomy, he was co-founder of Moxie Software (fka nGenera), where he served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development, Products & Marketing. Moxie raised over $50 Million from Foundation Capital and Oak Investment Partners, and grew to over $30 Million in revenue in less than 4 years. Brian was also the co-founder and CEO of iMark.com, a business-to-business web marketplace for trading surplus goods that was sold to then publicly-traded FreeMarkets (currently Ariba, NASDAQ: ARBA) in March 2000 for $340 million. Brian was a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in Austin, TX in 2000. Brian started his career at Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, OH, and also worked in a leadership role at Trilogy Software. Currently, Brian serves as a member of the Advisory Council for Entrepreneurship@Cornell, Cornell University’s university-wide entrepreneurship program, and the board of directors of ADRevolution. His educational background includes an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Engineering from Cornell University.

Joe Canterbury, SVP, Global Business Development
Joe leads global business development for Appconomy, including Marketing, Sales, Business Development and related Support functions. Immediately prior to Appconomy, Joe served as a key executive responsible for international business development for Starbucks for more than a decade. Mr. Canterbury had been with Starbucks since 2000, with his most recent position being Vice President of International Business Development. In that role, he was responsible for executing key strategic Retail and Consumer Product Goods projects for Starbucks in China, India, Brazil, and across Europe. He spent his first six years driving the international expansion strategy and entry into numerous new markets & channels across Asia, Europe and Latin America and then moved in 2007 to Amsterdam, where he was responsible for all new businesses and markets in EMEA (Europe, Middle East ∓ Africa). This was followed by a stint running Starbucks Germany before returning to a global role in Seattle. Before joining Starbucks, Mr. Canterbury held various management positions with Daimler based in Germany and Singapore. While in Singapore, he drove M&A & Partnering strategy and projects across Asia. He received a Masters in International Business from Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria and his MBA from Texas A&M University’s Mays School of Business.

Samuel Hui, Vice President, Sales & Business Development, China/Asia-Pacific
Samuel Hui is the General Manager of Appconomy’s Jinjin Retail business unit and Vice President of Business Development in China, where he is responsible for the business development strategy, merchants on-boarding and partner management in the country and nearby regions. Samuel is seasoned executive with over 15 years of extensive experience in financial payment and retail industry in Asia Pacific region. Starting as an entrepreneur, Samuel has built one of the major payment equipment, software solution and Service Company for the Taiwanese major banks and retailers and eventually sold to Acer. He has also been active in providing loyalty platform solutions to some of major financial institutions in the Asia Pacific. Mr. Hui was the VP of Sales and Market, North Asia and General Manager, China of Hypercom Inc., one of the leader providing PO Shardware, software and network solution for credit/debit card processing. Samuel had also served in Wincor Nixdorf Retail division as General Manager, China, overseeing the market/business development of the leading Chinese retail POS brand in China.

Dalong Li, Director, Product Engineering
Dalong Li 李大龙 is Director of Engineering, China. Dalong brings has 12 years of software and technology experience, most recently as Chief Architect at Shanghai Qeeka Co. Previously, Dalong was Senior Technical Director at ValueClickBrand. Other earlier roles in his career include work as a Senior Software Developer, an Online Game Architect, a VOIP Project Manager, and an IT Manager/Director. Dalong has a bachelors degree in Computing Science and Technology from North China Electric Power University.

Kelvin Lu, Head of Product Management & Marketing
KELVIN LU (陆丞佳 LU Chengjia) is the Product Manager of Jinjin Marketplace, Kelvin has served as Product Planning Engineer and Marketing Planning Supervisor for Sony (China), and Interactive Entertainment Marketing Product / Brand Manager for Tencent, where he was responsible for Game branding, positioning and promotion. While with Sony, Kelvin owns a patent in the process of product planning, also helped successfully launch new product concepts and services into the China market. Kelvin has a Bachelors degree from Tongji University where he studied Construction Environment and Equipment. He also holds a Six Sigma Green Belt.

Sophia Zheng, Director, Human Resources & Recruiting
Sophia Zheng assumes several Human Resource and organizational roles within Appconomy and the DaQiao Group. These include managing the recruiting process, managing new hire on-boarding, managing relationships with excel HRO staffing, employee handbook and FCPA policy implementation, and maintaining Chinese employee records. Sophia also manages the current intern programs in Shanghai and Austin, Texas. For the last nine years, she has worked at the Chengdu Neusoft University where she served as a teacher, Director of the International Office, and Dean Assistant in the Foreign Languages Department. Sophia graduated with B.A in English from Xi'an International Studies University.

Michael Beamer, SVP of Product and Solutions
Michael Beamer is the SVP of Product and Solutions at Appconomy. He is a 23-year technology and business leader with unique experience running technology teams and solutions in 40+ countries around the world. He’s been instrumental in the growth and success of companies ranging from pre-revenue startups to billion dollar global organizations. Michael has extensive experience in a wide range of roles from Building and Running Global SW Development Teams to IT Management and Consulting to Driving Record Revenue through Global Sales and Marketing Programs. Michael's extensive experience running development teams has resulted in numerous awards including winners of the IT Solution of the Year Award for Austin as well as winners as one of the top web-based support sites in the world. Mike serves on numerous advisory councils including undergraduate and graduate level councils on IM for The University of Texas at Austin as well as the Austin InnoTech Technology Council. Mike has also established FLL Robotics in elementary education for his community.

Melanie Rustenbeck, VP of Operations
With over 20 years of experience in rapidly growing technology companies, Ms. Rustenbeck manages operations for Appconomy. As an original Appconomy team member, she is responsible for the development and implementation of the core infrastructure and operating plan required to support the company’s growth. Ms. Rustenbeck has extensive experience working in innovative, high-growth companies. Among them are BSG, Perficient, ROME, Origin Technology, B.V., and Moxie Software (fka nGenera.) With a focus on administrative management, Ms. Rustenbeck has taken companies from start-up to several thousand global employees. She has done this through both organic growth and extensive merger and acquisition activity. Ms. Rustenbeck graduated with a BS in Business Management from LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas.
Director of Quality Engineering and Customer Service
Maarten Metz, Director of Quality Engineering and Customer Service
Maarten is responsible for global quality engineering and customer service for Appconomy. Maarten brings 20 years of experience in quality assurance and software configuration management. Immediately prior to Appconomy, Maarten lead the global quality assurance department for SolarWinds. His past experiences include management positions at nGenera, Lombardi Software, and a number of other venture-backed and self-funded start-ups. Maarten began his career at Sabre Group, the business unit operating the ground-breaking reservation system for American Airlines. Maarten received a Masters degree in Computer and Information Resources Management from Webster University and a business degree from the Higher Business School in The Hague, the Netherlands.
