Charles Zhengyu Liu is the Senior Vice President of Engineering for the company.. Prior to joining Appconomy, Charles served as a senior manager with RIM (now Blackberry, Nasdaq: BBRY) in China since the company opened operations in 2006, first as the General Manager of RIM China and more recently as Chairman of RIM Mobile Science & Technology (China) Co., Ltd. As Appconomy’s SVP of Engineering, Charles oversees technology infrastructure & manages the development organization for the company.
Prior to RIM, Charles held multiple roles for Entrust Inc., Nortel Networks/Bell Northern Research, and the Shanghai University of Science and Technology, Shanghai China. Charles received anExecutive Development Program certificate from Guanghua School of Management, Peking University, Beijing, China, a Master’s of Science in Computer Networking from the Dept. of Electrical Engineering, University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Microwave Telecommunication, from the Dept. of Radio and Electronics, Shanghai University of Science and Technology, Shanghai China.

Maarten Metz, Vice President, Customer Service and Platform Operations
Maarten is responsible for global quality engineering and customer support for Appconomy. Maarten brings 20 years of experience in quality assurance and software configuration management. Immediately prior to Appconomy, Maarten lead the global quality assurance department for SolarWinds.
His past experiences include management positions at nGenera, Lombardi Software, and a number of other venture-backed and self-funded start-ups. Maarten began his career at Sabre Group, the business unit operating the ground-breaking reservation system for American Airlines.
Maarten received a Masters degree in Computer and Information Resources Management from Webster University and a business degree from the Higher Business School in The Hague, the Netherlands.
